Christmas Eve

Christmas eve and sat by the log fire with the dogs at my feet. We have just got back from a day at a Christmas market and a visit to the outdoor ice rink in Limoges. The French do not seem to drag Christmas out for months in advance but they tend to squeeze it all into one or two weeks, so there is always that festive feeling before Christmas. The Markets are buzzing with people shopping for unique gifts.

Christmas Market

The markets had everything from a cobbler making his shoes to hand made chocolates, there were also loads of goodies to taste. So we came back with a large bag full of unhealthiness to scoff over the coming days. There was also an appearance from the man himself.

It was then off to see Limoges of an evening. There has been an outdoor ice rink set up for the weeks running up to christmas and log cabins have been erected around the main plaza selling all sorts including hot wine. The fountain had been turned off and decorated with lights. Very festive.

We are still busy and the gite is full over Christmas and New Year. We have Three people who have come for some peace and to get away from the big city of London. We are looking forward to a couple from Finland who are staying for a while to escape the harsh winter. We are keeping our winter rates right up until April, so grab a bargain.

Merry Christmas to everyone from all of us.
